Improved Contracts & Clauses are Coming for MFL Season 1

As part of our exciting Season 1 updates, we’re introducing some major improvements to contract offers that will give you more flexibility and make negotiations even more dynamic. Let’s dive into the key features: multi-season contracts, the minimum match clause, and contract offer expiration dates 📝

🔢Multi-Season Contracts: Lock in Your Top Players

One of the most exciting updates is the introduction of multi-season contracts. During Alpha, player agreements were limited to single-season deals, but clubs will now be able to secure players for up to 3 seasons. This allows clubs to plan for the future and build a more stable team while locking down valuable talent.

But with great commitment comes great risk. If a player’s form drops or a better talent emerges, you’re stuck with that contract unless both sides agree to part ways. Strategic foresight will be key when deciding whether to commit to longer-term deals.

🤞Minimum Appearances: Guarantee Playtime for Your Players

Another exciting addition is the Minimum Appearances clause, designed to ensure that your players get the appearances they need.

With Player Progression becoming a key part of MFL, this clause is perfect for agents looking to guarantee their players get the pitch time required to develop and reach their potential. If the club falls short on this promise, they’ll compensate by providing extra revenue share — so either way, you win.

What It Brings to the Table:

  • For Agents: This clause guarantees that your players won’t sit on the sidelines, giving them a fair shot at improving and increasing their value. If the club doesn’t honor the deal, you’re compensated with extra revenue share. A win for your player, or for your $MFL balance!
  • For Clubs: Offering guaranteed playtime can be a great way to land a top player. But beware — if you can’t keep up your end of the bargain, it could cost you financially. Balancing this clause with squad rotation and match performance can be a challenge, so make good use of it.

The Minimum Match Clause offers agents a reliable way to ensure their players are part of the action, while also giving clubs a strong negotiating tool to attract top talent.

⏳Expiration Dates on Contract Offers: Time-Sensitive Negotiations

The third practical addition to the contract system in this upcoming update is the introduction of contract offer expiration dates. Instead of offers remaining open indefinitely, each contract proposal will come with a clear deadline, adding urgency to the negotiation process.

For agents, this means fewer lingering offers, while clubs gain the ability to accelerate negotiations, making the transfer market more fluid and competitive.

These updates will bring a fresh layer of strategy to MFL’s contract system. Whether you’re using multi-season contracts to secure long-term talent, negotiating minimum match guarantees to develop players, or managing the timing of offers with expiration dates, the decisions you make will have a lasting impact on your squad’s success.

As you prepare for the new season, think carefully about your contract choices — how you handle negotiations could shape your club’s future for seasons to come!
