Getting Started in MFL

Welcome to the world of MFL ⚽️

As you begin your journey in this virtual football ecosystem, it’s essential to understand the key roles within MFL. In this guide, we’ll walk you through the process of becoming an Agent or a Club Owner and help you get started on the right foot.

Quick navigation- Become a Player Agent
- Get your own Club
- Understanding Player Contracts

💼 Becoming an Agent

To become an Agent in MFL, you need to acquire players.
There are two primary methods to do so.

1- Open new Player Packs

The first method is to experience the thrill of ripping packs open and discovering new talent firsthand. You might just uncover hidden gems as part of your haul!
Pack Drops happen periodically, and we always announce them in advance on Discord, X and on the MFL Webapp
Better be there on time when it’s drop time, as supply is limited.

PS: Some player packs are exclusively available to new users. Check your inbox!

2- Scour the Marketplace for talent

If you prefer a more strategic approach, explore the Marketplace to find players that suit your requirements! Acquire their services from other Agents and start your own player agency.

OK, I have players. Now what?

Congrats on getting your first clients!
As an Agent, you can now find a Club for your players, and watch them perform in their new home during the season. Witness their development, track their journey to stardom (hopefully!) and earn rewards thanks to their play!

👔 Becoming a Club Owner

Many Agents take the next step and become Club Owners themselves. This allows you to use your own protégés to form your Club’s squad and compete with your very own institution during MFL seasons.

So, do you want to spearhead your own team and take part in official competitions, season after season? Acquire your very own MFL Club!
There are, again, two avenues to Club ownership:

1- Get a Club Pack and build from the ground up

Acquire a Club License in a Club Pack, which enables you to establish a Club eligible to play in the lowest division on the MFL pyramid. Discover the location in which you’ll be able to establish you’re club, then customize your club by naming it, choosing its colors, and even designing its logo!

2- Explore the Market for Club listings

Look for Clubs listed by their owners on the Marketplace. There, you will find untouched Club Licenses, as well as clubs that have already been established and customized. Want to start from the very top and compete at the highest level right off the bat? Chances are there is a Diamond League club listed! You never know who is looking to buy or sell assets.

Got your Club? That means you’ll be able to enter competitions, earn rewards, and make your way up the ranks!
But first, you have to fill up your squad. That’s where Contracts come in 👇

Understanding Player Contracts

Player contracts are the lifeblood of MFL for both Agents and Club Owners. Clubs need players under contracts to participate in competitions, while Agents must find a Club for their players to maximize their growth and earn rewards from their play during the season.

When negotiating a contract, there are two elements the Agent and Club owner must agree upon:

  • The duration of the contract
  • The revenue share

What’s revenue share?

Basically, it’s how much of their rewards Clubs are willing to part with to get a player on their team. The Club Owner and Agent must agree on a percentage of all rewards, in $MFL, received by the player’s team from competitions to be shared with the player’s Agent.

What is $MFL (MFL Coin)?

$MFL is the in-game currency. You can earn it by participating in competitions with your own Club, and — as discussed above — by representing the players in your agency in contract negotiations. You can use your $MFL to buy new players in the MFL store, or even enter Rapid Play tournaments!

1- Negotiating as an Agent

As an Agent, you’re responsible for finding a Club for your players. You can earn $MFL, the in-game currency, by agreeing to a contract with the owner of the Club they will play in.
To make negotiations easier, you can set availability settings for your players, so that Clubs know what kind of offers you’re looking for:

  • Set a minimum Division clubs must be registered in in order to make an offer for your player. Clubs from lower tiers than stipulated won’t be able to send in any offers.
  • Define a minimum revenue share percentage. Clubs may only submit offers that match the figure you set.

You can even toggle auto-accept so that the first suitable offer from clubs for your players is automatically accepted!

2- Signing players to your Club

As a Club owner, you’re of course looking to fill up your squad ahead of the upcoming competitions! The better your team does during the season, the more $MFL you will earn.

When the Transfer Window is open, you can head to the Scouting page, which contains the full database of MFL Players. You can sort players by availability, skill, position and much more, and make contract offers for players who fit the bill!

The Scouting page, from which you can offer contracts to players

Offering a contract is straight-forward. Just set the proposed revenue share and duration of the contract, and it will be sent to the player’s Agent for review. If approved, the player will join your ranks, be counted toward the 25 player slots in your team, and suit up for your Club for the duration of his contract.

Can I sign my own players to my Club?

Absolutely! If, as the Club’s owner, you want to sign players from your own agency to your team, you may set the revenue share percentage to zero. That way, you will be able to keep that budget to complete the rest of your squad with players you don’t own if you’d like to!
