Celebrating the Million

Team MFL, we’ve just hit something big — $1 million in total volume 🔥 This massive win is all thanks to you, your unwavering support, and dedication to the MFL universe. Let’s rewind and appreciate the journey that brought us here, and get ready for the epic celebrations ahead 👀

Early Days and Foundations

It all began in December 2021 when we launched our Discord, a starting point for a community that would grow to become the backbone of MFL. By February, we were welcoming early adopters and outlining roles, announcing our first drops, and by March, we were ready to reveal our pack designs. The buzz was building.

Innovation and Expansion

Throughout 2022, significant updates kept the excitement high. A partnership with Dapper for the use of their Wallet solutions laid the foundation for a thriving economy on Flow, our blockchain of choice. The first-ever MFL Player Drop took place in June, with our OG users becoming agents and discovering their new players.
We then launched our marketplace in July, providing a space for our community to trade and strategize. It has been active ever since, with deals being struck between Agents every single day.

With the release of our whitepaper in September, we detailed our vision and future, cementing our commitment to transparency and trust.

Competition and Community

Since the outset, our community has been at the heart of every decision and development. With over 100 weekly dev updates, we’ve not just been building MFL; we’ve been co-creating it with you. Each update, feature release, and new iteration has been a response to your feedback, suggestions, and aspirations.

As 2023 rolled around, the community’s enthusiasm was palpable. We introduced the first friendly simulations in February, adding a new dynamic to gameplay. March saw our Friendly Cup, while April marked the beginning of Club Creation — a milestone that brought new dimensions to MFL. By mid-2023, we were rolling out contracts and club friendlies, building towards an ecosystem that reflected the dreams and strategies of our managers.

The latter half of 2023 brought about the Women’s World Cup on Flow and its charity auctions (raising over $6K!), and the launch of multiple Alpha test seasons. It was a year capped by the December holiday season’s events, including an advent calendar, full-time report, and special festive tournament, creating memorable experiences for everyone involved.

Pushing Boundaries

The early months of this year were marked by innovation with new, major features like Positional Familiarity and Team Instructions, greatly enhancing the tactical side of the game and the control managers can have over what happens on the pitch. We also greatly improved the realism of the game, with new additions like Set Piece Takers, Player Match Rating, Advanced Stats and a revamped engine all making an appearance this past month.

We’ve recently put a renewed focus on making our environment more welcoming to new users. With a comprehensive knowledge base and the addition of live support, a new onboarding, and the French and Spanish locales, we’ve set ourselves up to grow the number of active managers in MFL.

The Road Forward

As we celebrate this milestone, we’re reminded that this is just one of many more to come. Our goal is clear: keep enriching our universe to give anyone the opportunity to live their football dream.

If you’re reading this, the chances are you know just as well as anyone else that flash often overshadows substance in this space. That’s not us, and we’re very proud of that. Our promise to you is a game that grows with its managers, a space where your voice helps steer the ship, and where the economy is truly player-owned .

The MFL journey has been incredible, but we’re far from done. With your support, we’ll continue to build and bring you new updates each and every week. We’re so excited about the road ahead. It’s paved with more features, more of the community-driven gameplay you love, and, who knows, maybe even more types of nets to aim for.
We can’t wait to bring you the first closed-loop — so to speak — version of the ecosystem. Promotion and relegation, player progression and aging, full-scale rewards and the ability to redeem MFL points are all on the cards for this calendar year.
