Announcing the Season 2 Timeline

As an incredible Season 1 approaches its final sprint, we couldn’t be more proud of what we’ve achieved as a community. With over 20% more participants than any other season, we smashed participation records and released some of the most important features in MFL’s history. From the introduction of player progression to the Development Center, the game has reached new heights 🔥

Season 1 is generating great engagement across the board, and we’re beyond excited to keep building and improving MFL together with all of you. The foundation we’ve built sets the stage for what’s to come, and we’re thrilled to share the timeline for Season 2, which will start on December 17!

The New Regular Season Timeline

Starting with Season 2, MFL will officially adopt a regular season timeline, with each season running on a six-week cycle. This format is designed to keep the game dynamic and predictable, so you’ll always know what to expect, giving you time to prepare for the next transfer window, the next drop, or the next competition.

Key dates:

December 16: Rollover Day (see below)
December 17: Season start, with the Transfer Window, the Development Center and registrations opening
December 18: Player pack Drop
December 25: Leagues start, together with the daily training sessions
January 8: Midseason Transfer Window starts + Player pack Drop
January 11: Development Center closes for the season, Midseason Window ends
January 21–22: IMFF Cup Final and final League matchday
January 24–26: Promotion Playoffs

What Is Rollover Day?

Rollover Day is when we make the switch to the new season and during which we’ll “freeze” everything. Here’s what will happen on December 16:

Promotions and relegations become effective. Clubs will officially move to their new divisions based on their performance in Season 1.
Players age by one year, inching closer to their max Longevity (a hidden attribute each player possesses!).
Restrictions will apply. On Rollover Day, you won’t be able to sign new contracts or request cancellations. It’s a “lockdown” day, with only the marketplace remaining active. It also represents your last chance to cancel auto-renewals or make pre-contract agreements (say what?) for the upcoming season.

Make sure to get your moves in before everything locks down on December 16 at 9am CET!
