The fifth MFL season is kicking off in a few days. Here’s all you need to know about Alpha Season 0.5.

As we approach the start of new competitions, we’re thrilled to introduce a host of features that are set to enhance your MFL experience. Get ready to dive deeper into the strategy, enjoy more dynamic gameplay, and celebrate player achievements like never before! More below 👇

Player Match Rating 🌟
We’re introducing a Player Match Rating system that reflects your players’ performance on the pitch with precision. Post-match, you’ll see a rating for each player, calculated based on their role and actions during the game. For instance, defenders are evaluated on their core defensive duties but also gain points for their contributions to the offense.
Watch ratings update live as the match unfolds and feel the impact of key plays in real-time!
Individual Player Stats 📊
A suite of new individual statistics is coming your way! You’ll be able to track your players’ performance across various stat categories: Attack, Defense, Goalkeeping, and Passing. These stats aren’t just for show — they’re a tool to help you make informed strategic decisions. And yes, you can filter them by competition and season, giving you complete oversight of your players’ MFL career in numbers.
Added Time ⌛
Say hello to added time! Stoppage time! Injury time! Whatever you call it, it’s coming and it will reflect real match stoppages, ensuring that every foul and set piece is taken into account. This feature aims to replicate the ebb and flow of IRL football matches, adding authenticity to the simulation. Also adding to the realism – we’ll ensure the whistle is blown at the appropriate time at the end of each period, as to not interrupt potentially dangerous situations.
Revamped Shooting Mechanics 🥅
The latest engine update will enable deflections, errant passes, and crosses sometimes turning into opportunistic goals, and even the rare but dramatic own goals.
The new shooting mechanics allow players to make pivotal decisions between opting for an accurate shot, which offers precision but might be easier for goalkeepers to save, or a powerful shot, increasing the chance of scoring but often sacrificing accuracy. This choice, coupled with the decision to target specific areas of the goal, determines the shot’s initial trajectory and power. Elite shooters will exhibit superior control, ensuring their shots mirror their intentions more closely, both in terms of power and aim.
Set Piece Takers 📝
Strategize and assign your set piece specialists via the tactics screen. Prepare for every scenario by designating multiple players for each set piece. No need to adjust your list every match — even players outside of your default starting XI can be called upon for their expertise and be designated as the corner, free kick and penalty takers.

- If you’re a player’s Club owner AND Agent, your contract offers will now be validated automatically
S0.5 Info & Timeline
The registrations for all three competitions of S0.5 will open at the same time, on March 19th… And that is also when the Transfer Window opens!

You may have noticed the IMFF Cup will end before the leagues do. as requested by some of our most esteemed Club owners 🙌😌
⚠️ Please note:
During Alpha Seasons, the rewards (in MFL Points) are significantly scaled down compared to what can be expected in later seasons — with player development, aging and promotions/relegations active.
